Whosoever Will ... Let him take the Water of Life freely ......

The  good news is that eternal life is not merely life that lasts forever, but it is life in God's fellowship and friendship on the highest possible level, that is, in heavenly glory. (Herman Hoeksema)

Good News for Roman Catholics

Message of Love

Picture
People who take a stand for biblical truth are sometimes accused by people with various religious views of being unloving because we oppose the errors of Roman Catholicism. Personally I extend to every Roman Catholic, as well as those involved in other faiths my sincere love in Jesus Christ, indeed my greatest desire is to see them all come to a true biblical understanding of the Christian faith, as well as come to a personal saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.Surely it is not love to condone error, or to imply that the fundamental differences between Roman Catholicism as well as other world faiths and Biblical Christianity do not exist. The policy of this web site is to present the Word of God, to contend for the faith, and to educate and instruct people in the facts that support the truth of the Gospel.

I make no apology for my stand, infact I echo the words of the great reformer Martin Luther, who, standing before the Holy Roman Emperor and the princes of Germany was asked to recant his attack upon Roman Catholic Doctrine stated: "I can not and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can not do otherwise. God help me. Amen"

James G. McCarthy.

Picture
James G. McCarthy was formerly a Roman Catholic himself, now as founder and director of Good News for Catholics he seeks to bring other Roman Catholic to a knowledge and understanding of the errors of Roman Catholicism and to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This powerful and insightful examination of the Catholic Church provides:

1) a side by side comparison of Scripture with the first new worldwide Catholic catechism in 400 years 2) a summary of how modern Catholicism views grace, works, and heaven3) 24 ways the Catholic plan of salvation still stands in contrast to biblical truth4) a balanced overview of how the authority structure of the Roman Catholic Church compares with that of the New Testament church5) an explanation of how participation in the Mass and other sacrament is inconsistent with faith in Christ as Saviour.

Richard Bennett - A Former Dominican Priest says concerning this book:In 1983, as a Catholic priest, I searched in vain Christian book-stores for something written about my Church. I wanted to read something by someone who knew Catholicism well and who also knew the Bible. Since that time, I have known many others who have made similar quests only to return equally frustrated. The book I longed for is now available. With compassion, care, and clarity, James McCarthy gives a message that is long overdue. The Gospel According to Rome is not only clear and well documented, but in it you will also feel the heartbeat of Catholicism.

This book is published by Harvest House Publishers.

Charles Chiniquy

Picture
Here is a heart-wrenching struggle of a man torn between his religion and Christ, between the traditions of man and the Word of God. Which should he obey? his church, or his Bible?

As a child, Charles Chiniquy memorized Scriptures at his mother's knee. He loved God and wanted to serve Him, so he became a Roman Catholic priest. He wanted to trust his "church", but was tormented as he saw it repeatedly violate the Word of God it claimed to obey. Finally, Chiniquy was ordered to give up his precious Bible and pledge blind obedience to the "church". After a dark night of struggle, he emerged gloriously saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

Learn how Chiniquy was framed by the Jesuits, and how a young lawyer named Abraham Lincoln saved his reputation. Chiniquy provides proof that it was the Jesuits who later killed Lincoln, and even explains why they did it. As you read this story of a man who was inside the Catholic "church", you will grieve over the evils of the Catholic religion, but you will rejoice as he finds true salvation and leads many Catholics to Christ.

This book is published by Chick Publications.

Dermot Nash

Picture
In this small booklet, Dermot Nash writes from his own personal experience as a former Roman Catholic. Born in Dublin in 1935, he was educated by the Christian Brothers at St Vincent de Paul's School, Glasnevin, Dublin. In September 1954 he applied to a religious order for admittance to its noviciate, and studied for the Roman Catholic priesthood. He left two years later not having found the peace he sought. He then joined the Legion of Mary, and began to picket gospel meetings. It was through this that Dermot met a young Christian, who encouraged him to read the Bible. Dermot writes:

"The more I read the Scriptures the more confused I became, until one evening
while reading John 10:27 - 28 the Holy Spirit enlightened my soul and I realised that I was not a sheep of the fold of Jesus. On the evening of April I opened the Bible at John 10:27 - 28 and prayed that God would forgive me my sins and give me that life that Jesus spoke about. A great peace filled my soul as I poured out my heart before God and cried to Him for mercy. The guilt, burden, and consciousness of my sin just vanished away and for the first time in my life I knew what it was to be in the presence of the Living God".
