Reformation

The reformation of the 16th century was  one of the most important events in the history of the church the reformers and preachers of that time were the best educated, most godly, and most faithful group of leaders the church has ever seen.
Thanks to those men the church was delivered from darkness and returned to the glorious light of the gospel of grace.

Time for Reformation

The question may well be asked, "Have we not learnt anything from history?," as we look back over the time from the Reformation to our present age it seems apparent that the answer to that question is "no". When the Lord God sent the prophet Isaiah out to the people of Israel with His warning of forthcoming judgement, He told him that they would hear him, but that they would not understand him because their eyes have been blinded and their ears closed and their hearts hardened ...... because they dismissed the warning of God's messenger they would walk aimlessly into judgement. Well nothing seems to have changed today ...... God's men faithfully preach the truth of the Word of God, but those within the visible church have blind eyes, closed ears and hard hearts and they are being deceived into walking back into a relationship with Rome and with others that only bring upon them the judgement of God.

We need to look again at the great truths re-claimed through the Reformation, Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Christo and Soli Deo Gloria, (Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone For the Glory of God Alone).
There is a distinct walking away from the great biblical foundations of the Christian Church, and from the Word of God (the Bible) in general, many state that it has little or no relevance for this age in which we live and as a result they have turned to the principals of marketing in order to see the church grow. Instead of searching the Word of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, church leaders have turned to programmes and projects, worship has turned from a reverent heartfelt act of adoration and praise to God, to nothing more than mere entertainment, with music groups, dance, drama, power-point projections, with a short message added on the end, as though it is insignificant.Churches are turning away from the commands and statutes of God to the imaginations of man's mind, they have become just like the Israelites of old, they have become contaminated with the godless actions of worldly pleasure and as a result they their eyes have been blinded, and their ears closed to the truth. Several things have grown out of this situation, one being the Ecumenical Movement which over the years has widened it's boarders to include not only the godless religion of Roman Catholicism, but also many other organisations that refer to themselves as Christian, but clearly are not, as well as other world religions.
Those of us who are concerned about these current moves feel the time is ripe for a New Reformation ....... A turning  to the "Old Paths", which is the good way, the way where we can find rest for our souls.
